WALLPAPER REMOVAL ADVICE

Providing the walls have been properly sealed prior to installation of the paper, it is most likely to come off and leave the walls in good shape if the following steps are taken thoroughly:

1. The wallpaper must be soaked completely and repeatedly - all the way through so as to soften the paste. This can take many, many soakings. Have lots of towels, rags, old sheets, etc. on your floors and counters to catch runoff.

2. Best soaking method: A pump-up "garden sprayer" filled with hot water and wallpaper removing solution.

3. Make sure that your wallpaper is not a laminated vinyl/paper type before you start soaking. If it has a vinyl face - you can usually peel it off, leaving a soft yellowish paper backing which soaks off relatively easily.

4. If your wallpaper is not coming off - it's not wet enough. Period. There are no other reasons.

5. If it's not wet enough - you may simply need to soak it more or there may be some sort of moisture barrier on the paper preventing penetration. Sometimes it is a good idea to "score" the surface with coarse sandpaper first. Scratch it up thoroughly, then start soaking.

6. If it still won't come off - CALL REEVES PAPERHANGING!
